The School of Accelerated and Distance (SADE) began its accelerated degree program in Bismarck in August of 1996 to meet the needs of adult learners wanting to obtain a bachelor’s degree. SADE has experienced significant growth in the past 10 years, and we have grown to 16 sites in five states:
Belcourt, ND; Billings, MT; Bismarck, ND; Casper, WY; Dickinson, ND; Fargo, ND; Fort Riley, KS; Fort Yates, ND; Gillette, WY; Grand Forks, ND; Jamestown, ND; Kansas City, MO; Minot, ND; New Town, ND; Poplar, MT; Phoenix, AZ
Our accelerated format is designed specifically to give students the flexibility needed to earn a degree while meeting the demands of family life and work. Students attend class one night per week on a year-round basis.
Curriculum designed for the adult learner is composed of academic theory and practical experience. The facilitated learning process encourages students to build on their paradigm of leadership, pulling together theory and practice. The curriculum is updated on a regular basis to maintain the quality of education and meet the demands of a changing work environment.
Through the School of Accelerated and Distance Education, undergraduate adult learners with significant work experience may be granted prior learning academic credit through a portfolio evaluation of learning outcomes. Selected undergraduate programs are offered for adults who have already completed many requirements for their degree, allowing them to complete their Bachelor of Science degree in as few as 15-18 months.
