Bismarck, ND--Celebrate Children!, a message of love through song, will be presented by U-Mary voice students at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 20, in Heskett Hall.
The concert is part of this year's school-wide read, "Mountains Beyond Mountains" by Tracy Kidder, a book about Dr. Paul Farmer, his compassion for and service to the sick living in poverty, and his impact on disease control throughout the world.
"It is Dr. Farmer's compassion for children living in poverty that inspired this program of children's songs," says Katherine Henjum, associate professor of voice and director of the concert. "This is a wonderful opportunity for the university's voice students to share their talents and passion for music with the community while also bringing forth a message about serving, caring and connection."
The performance is open to the public and there is no charge for admission.
