St. Paul, MN – For his efforts in leading the University of Mary to a four-game sweep of Northern State, Michael Feldman was named the Northern Sun Baseball Player of the Week. Feldman is the first U-Mary baseball player to earn this honor.
The senior right fielder from Bismarck, ND, had an explosive offensive series as the Marauders swept a four-game conference-opening set from the Wolves at the Northern Sun Metrodome Classic. The leading home run hitter in the NSIC, Feldman hit two home runs, scored nine times and drove in six run against NSU pitching. He also recorded a save in the U-Mary 6-5 win to close the series.
With an 8-of-14 effort at the plate, he batted .571 with a 1.214 slugging percentage and reached base on a .667 clip, adding a double and a triple. Twice going 3-for-4 in a game, Feldman’s signature performance of the week included adding four runs scored and three RBI in a 20-8 victory.
The team leader in virtually all hitting categories, Feldman is hitting .414 through 17 games with six home runs and 16 RBI. He’s scored 20 runs and has two double and two triples with a .500 on base percentage and an .828 slugging percentage.
Among Northern Sun players, Feldman is first in home runs and total bases, second in runs and triples, third in hits, and eighth in batting average.
