HSL 110 Developing the Leader Within You This course is designed for students to explore and strengthen both professional and servant-leadership skills. 1 credit HSL 120 Principles, Values, and Ethics This course provides students exposure to formal definitions of principles, values, and ethics and how these critical issues relate to health care professions. Students will practice acquired ethical decision-making skills by working in teams to solve ethical dilemmas. 1 credit HSL 210 Communication and Team Building This course allows students to identify and practice collaborative leadership skills important in enhancing patient, co-worker, and employer relationships. Special emphasis will be placed on qualities of effective teams, establishing strategies to avoid dysfunctional teams, conflict resolution, and multigenerational work teams 1 credit HSL 220 The Culturally Competent Leader This course provides students with experiences and skills necessary to become culturally competent health care leaders. Students will also examine global issues affecting health care today. 1 credit
HSL 310 Entrepreneurship and Innovation This course is designed to familiarize students with the concepts of entrepreneurship and innovation through interactions with hotly care entrepreneurs and self-directed projects that demonstrate progress in leadership development. 1 credit HSL 320 Leadership and Management This course results in students identifying and appreciating leadership and management issues in the health care industry and understanding the organization of health care systems. 1 credit HSL 410 Personal Definition of Leadership In this capstone course, students summarize competencies related to program outcomes and prepare for career/graduate school entry. 1 credit
