Meet Our Bloggers

The following are students of the Harold Schafer Emerging Leaders Academy, who will be blogging their experience throughout the 2007-2008 school year. Please note: we will not be editing their punctuation or grammar, which will allow you to get the info straight from their fingertips.

                                               Stephanie Sandstrom

Ever wonder what you get if you mix energy, intuition, creativity and a few cans of Diet Coke? Ask Stephanie what makes her recipe for success, and those would be just a few of the ingredients. Stephanie is an inspiring senior at the University of Mary finishing up an accounting and business administration double major with concentrations in marketing and entrepreneurship.  A heavy work load, compiled with outside service learning experiences and a full time job are the things Stephanie looks forward to each week, and she wouldn't have it any other way.  As an Emerging Leaders Academy graduate, Stephanie mastered the art of being busy through volunteer partnerships with the American Red Cross, North Dakota Horse Council, and Bismarck-Mandan's Junior Achievement program to name a few.  Just recently Stephanie was elected to serve as president of Delta Epsilon Chi (DEX) the college division of DECA, where she will be putting her leadership skills to test for the next year.  Speaking to her peers, member of Congress, and presenting workshops at conferences across the nation will be her top priority in 2007-2008.  Stop back frequently to hear what our Madam President has to say.

                                                      Molly Sullivan

Bon Voyage!  Molly Sullivan will be setting sail on Aug, 27 to travel the world with the Semester at Sea program!  Molly is currently a junior at the University of Mary majoring in business administration and accounting with a minor in Spanish. Someday she dreams of working in international business.  In 2003, Molly was fully immersed into the Japanese culture as she lived with a host family in Tokyo for six weeks. Molly feels blessed to have received this opportunity to build on her international aspirations. Molly thrives on adventure, travel, and the excitement of experiencing new cultures. She is overflowing with enthusiasm for the journey that lies before her throughout the next semester. During the voyage she will be stopping in approximately 14 different ports where she will travel into each country to learn about and better understand the diverse cultures and lifestyles of the various countries. Molly invites you to take a vicarious voyage with her as she explores the wonders of the world! You can board the ship at www.semesteratsea.org or write to Molly at mjsullivan1@umary.edu.
