FOLLOW THE MARAUDERS!

No matter if you live in Bismarck, Berlin or Bejing, following the Marauders has never been easier. All football and men’s and women’s basketball games are broadcast live over the air and online. Video broadcasts are available for most football, volleyball, and men’s and women’s basketball games. The U-Mary iTunes site lets you download video highlights of many Marauders events. Two football games will be televised live this fall along with at least one basketball game. And you can catch all the latest team news, notes and stats on the U-Mary Web site!


Powerful KFYR Spreads U-Mary Football Throughout the Midwest
With a powerful radio signal that can be heard in five U.S. states and two Canadian provinces, KFYR AM 550 not only reaches Marauders football fans throughout the Upper Midwest, it also provides listeners with one of the best football broadcast teams around.

KFYR, with a 5 kW signal that reaches the largest listening area of any North Dakota radio station, teams with U-Mary to provide live radio and Internet broadcasts of Marauders football.

The terrific triumvirate of play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels, color commentator Jeff Groseclose and sideline reporter Rick Anthony provide Marauders fans insight and entertainment as they broadcast all games, home and away, for the third straight season. Joining the group for selected games in 2008 is former U-Mary All-NSIC quarterback Blair Sandy.

Jack Michaels (left) is an award-winning broadcaster, including being named ‘best play-by-play’ by the National Association of Broadcasters". A 20 year sports broadcasting veteran who’s called play-by-play for a variety of sports on many levels, including the North Dakota State Bison, Moorhead State Dragons, the CBA and IBA, and high school football and basketball. The original voice of the Fargo-Moorhead Red Hawks professional baseball team along with the legendary LA Dodger Maury Wills, Jack currently hosts a sports talk show on ESPN 710 weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Jeff Groseclose is no stranger to U-Mary or broadcasting. A former track and field All-American for the Marauders and a sports anchor for KFYR-TV, Jeff knows what being part of the "Orange and Blue" is all about!.

Rick Anthony is a veteran sportscaster and on-air talent. The radio voice of the NBDL Champion Dakota Wizards, Rick is also the former voice of the Magic City Snowbears CBA team. He has broadcast countless high school and college sports, and also has a mid-day show on Rock 101 in Bismarck.

KFYR-TV the Marauders’ New Television Home
KFYR-TV is the television home for U-Mary football and all Marauders athletics. The NBC affiliate in Bismarck, ND, KFYR-TV will broadcast live two Marauders football games in 2008, plus the "Marauders Weekly" coaches show, providing North Dakota’s lone NCAA Division II athletic program access to viewers across central and western North Dakota and into eastern Montana and northwest South Dakota.

Originating from KFYR-TV in Bismarck, ND, the 15-minute Marauders Coaches Show will air Sunday nights at 10:35 p.m. central time following the Night Report across the NBC North Dakota Sports network, which includes KFYR-TV, KMOT-TV in Minot, KUMV-TV in Williston, and KQCD-TV in Dickinson. The Marauders Coaches Show will run weekly for a total of 40 weeks every year. This year, the new coaches show will begin August 31, 2008, and run through May 31, 2009.

Hosted by KFYR-TV weekend sports anchor Bill Halter, "Marauders Weekly" will feature highlights and stories of U-Mary’s athletic programs throughout the full season. KFYR-TV sports reporter Scott Westerberg will contribute profile stories and at times will also go on the road with the Marauders. While Marauders football and men’s and women’s basketball will have a weekly presence during their seasons, all U-Mary athletic programs will be featured throughout the year. To ensure highlights of home and away contests, KFYR-TV will send a travelling correspondent with the Marauders to provide comprehensive coverage of away football and basketball games.

Should viewers miss the live broadcast, the Marauders Coaches Show will be posted online at http://www.kfyrtv.com/Video_Marauders.asp with links to the story also available at www.umary.edu.

In addition to the weekly Marauders Coaches Show, KFYR-TV and its affiliated stations will carry at least two U-Mary football games per year and will broadcast a similar number of basketball games. One football game this season is already set. U-Mary will travel to Northern State University for a Thursday night game on October 16, at 7 p.m. The contest will be broadcast throughout central and western North Dakota and into Montana on the NBC North Dakota Sports and all of South Dakota and into southwestern Minnesota on KSFY-TV. Sports director Lee Timmerman, a multiple recipient of the North Dakota Sportscaster of the Year honor and other awards, will lead the broadcast team for live events.
