The University of Mary Women’s Basketball team handed out several awards at the university's annual athletic banquet April, 12, 2006. In 2005-2006, the Marauders were in their first year of NCAA Division II provisionary status and as a result were ineligible for any team or individual post-season awards from the DAC or NAIA. The awards presented at this year's banquet were voted on by the Marauder coaches and team. The Marauders celebrated their 21-8 season by honoring the following athletes for their contributions:
Senior Andrea Ronderos (Washburn, ND) was named team MVP. Andrea is a 2004-2005 All-American who had an outstanding season in 2005-2006 as well. She was second on the team in scoring at 15.1 ppg. and led the team in assists (157) and made three-point field goals (57). Andrea holds school records for most points scored in a game (42) and most free throws scored in a game (16). In just three years at the University of Mary, Andrea climbed all the way to seventh on the Marauders' all-time scoring list (1407) and reached sixth on the all-time assists list (388).

Sophomore Kristin Bear (Mandan, ND) earned the Most Improved Player award. Kristin played sparingly as a freshman, but emerged in her sophomore season to become the Marauders' most consistent performer off the bench. Kristin was second on the team in field goal percentage (55 percent). During the middle of the season, she enjoyed a run of five games in which she averaged in double figures. For the season, Kristin averaged 5 ppg. and shot an incredible 43 percent from the three-point line.
The Defensive Player of the Year award was awarded to Andrea Ronderos. Prior to 2005-2006, Andrea was the two-time DAC10 Defensive Player of the Year. The Marauders consistently asked Andrea to guard the opponent’s most talented offensive player, whether it be a post or perimeter player.
Junior Corrie Villegas (Polson, MT) received the Newcomer of the Year award. In her first season for the Marauders, Corrie led the team in scoring at 15.3 ppg. and free-throw percentage (83 percent). She was second in made three pointers (56) and total rebounds (183). Corrie’s offensive contributions helped offset the loss of All-American Jessica Zundel, a graduate from the previous season.
Kadee Kurtz (Sykeston, ND) was voted the Freshman of the Year. The Marauders were a veteran team in 2005-2006, so Kadee’s contributions came largely in practice. Kadee is extremely quick and her ability to push the basketball on every possession as well as pick up the opponent’s point guard full-court helped give the Marauders a great advantage in practice and games.
The Marauders also awarded the following statistical awards:
- Most Points: Corrie Villegas (444)
- Most Total Rebounds: Nicole Meier (Dickinson, ND), (220)
- Most Assists: Andrea Ronderos (157)
