Myron Schulz
Head Coach
mschulz@umary.edu
(701) 355-8230
(800) 408-6279, ext. 8230

The winningest head coach in University of Mary football history, Myron Schulz has compiled a 68-18 career record and a 79.1 winning percentage as the leader of the Marauders. He also led U-Mary to the national playoffs six straight years.

2007 marks Schulz’s ninth season as head coach of the Marauders. Under his guidance, U-Mary has won four conference titles in six chances, advanced to the national playoffs six times and compiled a 47-5 record in conference games.

Schulz now has the challenge of creating a dominant program in NCAA Division II. After two seasons making the transition from the NAIA and ineligible for conference titles and postseason oppportunities, 2007 is the first year U-Mary can compete for the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference title. Last season, playing an NCAA D-II schedule for the first time, the Marauders won their last six games of the season, all against NSIC foes.

Before becoming the Marauders head football coach, Schulz spent seven years as an assistant coach for U-Mary. During that time he was the defensive coordinator for four national playoff teams and three conference champions. His 1995 defense was third in the nation in rushing defense. U-Mary led the NDCAC in scoring defense in 1998. Prior to beginning his U-Mary coaching career, Schulz was a graduate assistant coach at Montana State University under Head Coach Earle Solomonson and Offensive Coordinator Bart Andrus.

“My experiences have given me tremendous insight into the building of a championship football program,” explains Schulz. “I strive to bring continuity to the U-Mary football program. I also work hard to keep the program based on both football and academics.”

Schulz, a Bismarck native, graduated from the University of Mary with bachelor’s degrees in social and behavioral sciences and physical education. He earned a master’s degree in health and human development from Montana State University. In addition to coaching, Schulz teaches in the university’s Division of Education.

Chris Fisk
Offensive Coordinator
Offensive Line & Strength Coach
cfisk@umary.edu
(701) 355-8007
(800) 408-6279, ext. 8007

After serving five years as the offensive line coach for a potent Marauders attack, Chris Fisk was promoted to the Marauders offensive coordinator post for the 2007 season.

Fisk came on board at U-Mary as a graduate assistant to help coach the offensive line in 2002. In 2003, Fisk took over responsibility for the offensive line and became a full-time coach in 2004 when the Marauders added a full-time position to the football staff. In addition to coaching the offensive line, Fisk also became a member of the Physical Education faculty and the strength and conditioning coach for all U-Mary sports.

Fisk succeeds Bud Etzold as OC. The change should be seamless, as Fisk played three seasons (1996-98) at Jamestown College for Etzold, during which time the Jimmies won conference titles in 1996 and 1997, and has coached with Etzold the past five years. In those five seasons, U-Mary has averaged an impressive 26.3 points per game, won two conference titles and made the national playoffs three times.

After completing his degree at Jamestown College, Fisk returned home to coach high school football before coming to U-Mary to earn his master’s degree in management. Fisk is married to Jessie, who works at MedCenter One. The couple has two daughters, Avery and Shaunessy.
