Harold Schafer Leadership Institute Features First-Ever Reunion of Rough Rider Award Recipients

Students and the Bismarck-Mandan community enjoyed a unique opportunity to meet and learn from recipients of the state's highest honor, the Theodore Roosevelt Rough Rider Award, Sept. 25, at the University of Mary's Harold Schafer Leadership Institute. Held at the new Tharaldson School of Business at America's Leadership University, the event was part of a historic first-ever reunion of Rough Rider Award recipients, hosted by the Governor's office and the university. more>>

Alumni Invited to 50th Anniversary Kick-Off Events
University of Mary alumni, faculty, staff and friends are invited to the 50th Anniversary "Jubilee!" Celebration, Monday, Nov. 17, 2008. The event starts with a morning service at 8 a.m., in Our Lady of the Annunciation Chapel and continues in the evening with a "Fun in the 50th!" carnival at 4:45 pm, in Leach Field House. Enjoy a Weekend in Paradise at Panorama VIII
The 2008 U-Mary Steel Band concert will take place Friday, Nov. 7, and Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Belle Mehus City Auditorium at 8 p.m. The University of Mary Steel Band will provide its usual energetic program of Caribbean calypso in a program that also features this year’s special guest performer Alessandra Belloni. Often called a “Mediterranean Volcano,” Belloni is a tambourine virtuoso, singer, dancer, and actress. Tickets are $12 each and available from Lee’s Hallmark, Eckroth Music, and the U-Mary music department. Watch for more information on umary.edu!

University Honors Alumni for Servant-Leadership in Their Fields
The University Mary honored two outstanding alumni at its annual Alumni Recognition Awards and Hall of Fame Dinner, Friday, Oct. 3, 2008. U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Barbara Jean Pfliger Gravelin,'85, was presented with the University of Mary's 2008 Presidential Leadership Award, and Marques J. Doppler, '81, was recognized with the Harold Schafer Alumni Leadership Award at the 2008 event. more>>

The University of Mary honored outstanding alumni of its basketball, softball, and wrestling programs and a beloved, highly respected former coach with induction into the Marauders Hall of Fame on Friday, Oct. 3. more>>


U-Mary Fall 2008 Band Concert Will Feature Two Outstanding Student

Dennis Gowen, director of bands and brass studies since 1987, will conduct the U-Mary Concert Band on Sunday, Oct. 26. Scheduled for 3 p.m. in Our Lady of the Annunciation Chapel, the performance will feature several outstanding works and two remarkably talented U-Mary music students. more>>

University of Mary Celebrates 50th Anniversary With 20th Straight Year of Record-Breaking Enrollment

s the University of Mary prepares to kick-off its yearlong 50th Anniversary celebration, it is also once again cheering a record-breaking fall enrollment. A total of 2,862 students enrolled at America’s Leadership University this fall, up from 2,783 in fall 2007. This marks the 20th straight year of increased fall enrollment at the university. more>>

University Hosts '3-D' Panorama Preview: Drums, Discussion, Demos
