Rwandan Genocide Survivor is Keynote Speaker at University of Mary Prayer Day, Feb. 7, 2008

The Bismarck-Mandan community and people from across the region are invited to hear and meet Immaculée Ilibagiza at the 30th annual Prayer Day 2008, Feb. 7, beginning at 11 a.m. in the McDowell Activity Center on the campus of the University of Mary. Ilibagiza will tell of her relationship with God and shared her triumphant inspirational story on which her new book, “Left to Tell,” is based. more>>

Join Us for Jazz at UMJF 2008!
The 35th annual University of Mary Jazz Festival will be held Feb. 1 and 2, with the UMJF Concert taking place Friday, Feb. 1, at 8 p.m., in the Bismarck Civic Center. Tickets are $10 each and available at Eckroth Music, Lee’s Hallmark (Kirkwood Mall), the U-Mary Music Department, or at the door. This year’s outstanding roster of guest artists includes Nicolas Bearde, Mario DiCiutiis, Jim Mair, David K. Mathews, Marc Van Wageningen, Paul Van Wageningen, and John Worley, Jr. For information about performances, educational clinics, and the 50-60 high school and middle school performing ensembles taking part in this major jazz event, visit www.umary.edu.

University of Mary to Host Presentation by National Teacher of the Year
2007 National Teacher of the Year Andrea Peterson will share her perspectives on education Jan. 31, as part of U-Mary’s Spring 2008 Convocation Series. She will speak on “Learning, Exploring, Interacting, Serving — Connections That Matter” in Arno Gustin Hall at 11 a.m. The presentation is free and open to the community. January Leadership Days Feature Rev. Nathan Frambach, Ph.D.
Curious about the world in which we live and informed by emerging church conversation, Dr. Frambach asks, “What does it mean to be the church as we live — not as we think or remember or long for, but as we live God’s mission today?” Conference will be held Friday and Saturday, Jan. 18-19 at the University of Mary. more>>

The Office of Career and Testing Services will be hosting a Career and Internship Fair on Thursday, Feb. 21, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. in Leach Field House, at the University of Mary. Current students and alumni are encouraged to attend the event. The fair is geared toward business, computer, SBS, criminal justice, human and social service, communication and liberal arts majors.
