2006 U-Mary Jazz Festival Features Star-Studded Lineup

West Coast jazz will take center stage at this region's premier jazz celebration--the University of Mary's Jazz Festival Concert.
The 33rd annual event is at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, in the Bismarck Civic Center Starlite Theater. The performance will feature keyboard artist David Mathews, steel drum virtuoso Tom Miller, recording artist Nelson Braxton, fusion drummer Paul Van Waginengen, saxophonist Gordon Foote, and the award-winning University of Mary Jazz Ensemble. more>>

Prayer Day 2006 Slated for Feb. 9
Prayer Day 2006 will be held on Thursday, Feb. 9. The keynote speaker is Sister Helen Prejean, CSJ, author of Dead Man Walking. She is making a return visit to our campus as she was the keynote speaker for Prayer Day in 2000. As usual, Prayer Day is open to the public. Women's Basketball Claims Victory Over No.1 Team in Nation
The weather was incredible, and so were the Marauders! The University of Mary women's basketball team competed in the Warner Southern Hampton Inn Classic in Lake Wales, FL, over the holiday break. The Marauders showcased an amazing array of offensive firepower in winning the tournament championship. The Marauders made an unbelievable 69 percent of their field goal attempts in the tournament. Nicole Meier averaged 20 points and eight rebounds to win the tournament MVP. more>>
