Step 3: Now that you have your PIN and have completed your FAFSA, what happens?
The Financial Assistance Office will receive a copy of your FAFSA information from the Department of Education. If additional information is needed, we will send you a letter. Please respond immediately to any requests so that your awarding process is not delayed.
Once your file is complete, we will mail you an Award Notice. If you were awarded laons on the Award Notice, you will need to:
1. Complete loan entrance counseling as indicated in Step 4. Be sure to complete counseling for all types of loans that you are awarded.
2. Select a lender of choice if you were awarded Stafford loans. Your Stafford loans, although federally guaranteed, are processed through a lender. You can learn more about selecting a lender by going to the Loans section.
