I have been with the University of Mary since the inception of the occupational therapy program 10 years ago. During this time, I previously served as the academic fieldwork coordinator and as program director. My main teaching interest lies in the areas of program development, research, theory guiding practice, and integrating the concept of theraputic use of self.

My previous professional experience includes working with individuals and groups in mental health, long-term care, outpatient, home health, and industrial rehabilitation. I also have worked with various businesses, providing private consultation services for program development and employee performance assessments.

On Servant Leadership . . .

Servant-leadership is a set of behaviors displayed by ordinary people who use their gifts and talents to bring forth the best from themselves and others on a daily basis. These actions embody valuing of people through involvement; acknowledging self-limitations; and a need for life-long learning, sharing power among all involved; and the courage to utilize innovative methods to promote change. As a faculty member at the University of Mary, it is of the utmost importance to engage in these behaviors with all stakeholders including students, administration, colleagues, and other employees.
