Having experienced nursing in rural and urban settings specializing in intensive care and geriatrics I began teaching nursing. Over the years I have come to love graduate education, particularly teaching nurses to become nurse educators. I teach core courses in the nursing graduate program which includes teaching online courses as well as those in the classroom.
Community and Professional Interests
On Servant Leadership . . .
The Benedictine values are the basis for my understanding of servant leadership within nursing. The model of Jesus washing the feet of the disciples is best followed by living the values of respect for all people, a sense of welcoming others into our lives, the creation of a sense of community and a deep desire to serve. Servant leadership is our hallmark in living the mission of the University of Mary.
