I have served as the fieldwork coordinator for the Exercise Science Program at the University of Mary since 2003. In addition to my duties within the Exercise Science Program, I serve as an assistant athletic trainer and Approved Clinical Instructor for the Athletic Training Education Program at the University of Mary.
After graduating from the University of Mary with a bachelor's degree in athletic training in 1999, I spent a year in the clinical setting with Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA, as an outreach athletic trainer. I then received my master’s degree in clinical exercise physiology from Minnesota State University, Mankato, in 2003.
While completing my graduate work at MSU-M, I served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the men’s hockey, wrestling, and softball teams. I also was a clinical instructor in the MSU-M Athletic Training Education Program.
I enjoy working both in and out of the classroom with tomorrow’s future leaders in the health industry. I feel the University of Mary Exercise Science Program does an excellent job of preparing students both in the classroom and in the field with several experiences that are unique to the program, including a rotation with a cardiovascular surgeon and working with the nationally recognized Frappier Acceleration Training Program. I take personal responsibility for helping each student to find his or her own niche in the ever growing fitness and health industry.
