Preservice Teacher Awards
|

Each year the Division of Education awards preservice teachers who have completed their student teaching during that school year the opportunity to apply for two achievement awards. The awards are the "Preservice Teacher of Excellence" and the "Preservice Teacher of Merit" awards. These awards are given to preservice teachers who have demonstrated exemplary performance as a preservice teacher as documented by their academic record, cooperating and university supervisor student teaching evaluations, involvement in professional and servant-leadership experiences, and participation in global and/or diversity experiences during their teacher preparation program at the University of Mary.
The awards are presented at the annual Division of Education Banquet and the pictures of the award winners are displayed outside of the Division of Education office in Welder Library. To apply for one of these awards a preservice teacher must complete the Awards Application and return it to the Division of Education two weeks prior to the awards banquet.
