May 16, 2007 (Korean Folk Village)

Korean Folk Village, Suwon, South Korea
"Home to Korean heritage where many features of Korean culture have been collected and preserved for future generations."

Note: Our day was cut short due to the fact that it rained right after we got there! However, rain coats and umbrellas were cheap and "some" of us took advantage of this!  However, many of the activities we planned to see were cancelled so we do not have many photos unless you wanted to see us huddled under a tree!

Entrance to Korean Folk Village! Korean kimchee pots!

Reenactment of Korean wedding (groom has his back to camera).

There were many students from various schools throughout the area at the folk village and they were eager to talk with our students!  We learned a lot of Korean today!  You will notice the students are having lunch on a mat (no shoes on mat) and the boy in front is holding chop sticks!

Young Korean family who we met upon existing the folk village!  They were happy to give us a photo once we told them we wanted a photo of their child! The mother is carrying the child in the traditional manner!  You rarely, if ever, see children in strollers they are either walking or being held by their mother!
