Welcome to the Graduate Program of the Division of Education at the University of Mary, America's Leadership University. As director of the graduate program in education, I want to assure you that our graduate programs:
  • Build upon your competence as a professional educator.
  • Enable you to be a leader in your educational setting.
  • Deliver instruction tailored to your needs and learning style.
  • Allow you to balance work, family, and graduate school.
  • Are scheduled for the convenience of working teachers.

We offer a wide range of opportunities for the adult learner. Students may take courses toward educational endorsements and credentials, or may complete their master's degree in:

We also offer various endorsement and credential plans through the North Dakota Educational Standards and Practices Board and the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction.

The Special Education Resident Teacher Program provides an exciting opportunity in special education. Graduate candidates with North Dakota teacher licensure may earn a M.Ed. or credential in special education while being paid to teach in inclusive settings serving children with mild to moderate disabilities. Tuition is waived through the statewide Resident Teacher Grant.

A candidate for the master's degree has the option of completing a thesis or preparing a comprehensive portfolio as the capstone project. In order to meet the needs of adult learners, graduate classes are offered summers, weekends, and evenings. If you are interested in an exceptional graduate experience, or if you have questions about any of our programs, click on the links that follow or contact me.

Becky Salveson, Ed.D.

The week-long concentrated summer classes at the University of Mary have been a wonderful way for me to attain my master's degree. I live out of state, and this program allowed me to take classes during the summer when I came home to visit family. Instead of having to take a class or two over an entire summer session, I was able to focus on one subject for a concentrated period of time. I was able to fit visits to family and friends around my class schedule.

The graduate education faculty and staff were very hospitable and accommodating. You will enjoy your graduate experience in the Division of Education. I did!
